ITC – Innovation Technology Cluster - organised the DIH AGRIFOOD annual event at Tourist Farm in Pomurje region, bringing together stakeholders from across the agri-food value chain to discuss how digitalisation can improve efficiency, sustainability, and collaboration in the sector.
The event focused on digital transformation in agriculture and food production, showcasing practical digital tools, applications, and approaches developed through DIH AGRIFOOD. Discussions highlighted how digital solutions can support everyday decision-making, strengthen value chains, and contribute to broader Green Deal objectives. Within this broader digitalisation context, one of the key aspects addressed was data sharing among stakeholders and the introduction of the data space concept, as promoted by the DS2 project.
Participants explored how structured, secure, and trusted data exchange can enable better cooperation between farmers, businesses, research organisations, and public authorities, while ensuring data ownership and trust. ITC presented concrete examples and use cases where digital tools and data-driven collaboration are already being applied in practice, including activities within the Green Point Living Lab. These examples illustrated how data sharing principles can complement existing digital solutions and help move towards more integrated and interoperable agri-food ecosystems. The event brought together representatives from research institutions, industry, demo farms, local communities, and Living Lab members, underlining the importance of co-creation and stakeholder engagement in advancing both digitalisation and data sharing in the agri-food sector.
Through the organisation of the DIH AGRIFOOD annual event, ITC continues to support innovation uptake, knowledge exchange, and the gradual introduction of data space concepts, contributing to the practical implementation of the DS2 project.
