From April 4th to 6th, 2025, the Athens Metropolitan Expo was abuzz with innovation and inspiration as it hosted Greece's leading event for digital transformation—BEYOND Innovation Arena Expo 2024. This extraordinary event brought together 275 exhibitors from 22 countries and featured 440 distinguished speakers. Among the standout attractions were the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Forum, the 12th Technology Forum, and a series of impactful B2B and B2G meetings, providing the perfect backdrop for exploring technological advancements and fostering connections.


Representing a frontline in agricultural innovation, the University of Thessaly (UTH) and CROWNEST SA participated with the clear objectives of promoting the advancements achieved through the AgroNIT smart-farming project—utilized within the DS2 project’s use case—engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders, and gathering valuable insights to refine their offerings.


Showcasing innovation and collaboration at their exhibition booth, UTH and CROWNEST SA unveiled cutting-edge DS2 project innovations, captivating visitors with live demonstrations of data space interoperability solutions. Attendees had the opportunity to witness firsthand how these technologies could transform agricultural practices through enhanced data governance and security. Workshops and presentations further elaborated on the project’s impact, spotlighting its role in driving smart agriculture advancements.


Networking sessions were a key highlight of their participation, enabling fruitful discussions with industry leaders, policymakers, and potential end-users. These interactions not only facilitated exploration of collaboration opportunities but also provided valuable feedback on the usability and integration of DS2 solutions within existing systems.


The outcomes of UTH and CROWNEST SA’s participation were significant. The event sparked keen interest among technology firms, government agencies, and academic institutions, opening doors for potential collaborations. Stakeholder feedback offered essential perspectives, ensuring that future iterations of DS2 solutions meet user needs effectively. Additionally, the expo provided a deeper understanding of prevailing market trends and stakeholder expectations, reinforcing the strategic direction of their projects.
